Malaysian football, rated differently.

One view measures playing strength. The other finds clubs beating their recent expectations. Kedafa Power & Pulse is an independent, provisional model of the senior men’s Super League—not the official standings and not yet a ranking of every team in Malaysia.

The Super League table decides league positions under the competition’s rules. Our Power rating asks a different question: how have a club’s results compared with the strength of the opposition it faced? The rating methodology explains the calculation, the fixed starting assumptions and the checks that still limit what these numbers can tell you.

No prior-season warm-up is available. The snapshot uses 25 played matches. Validation is insufficient: 10 holdout matches are available; the declared minimum is 20. No accuracy percentage is claimed.

Read the two rankings separately

A club can have a high Power rating and a negative Pulse. That means its accumulated results still place it among the stronger sides, while its latest eligible games have fallen short of its own pre-match expectations. A lower-rated team can lead Pulse after outperforming what the model expected. Neither situation is a contradiction.

Power has no fixed maximum and is not a mark out of 100. Its seven-day movement compares the club’s rating with the snapshot one week before the results cutoff, not necessarily with a previous website update. A zero change can mean no eligible match was played. Pulse is measured in result-score percentage points: it is not a win probability, an Elo-point change or a financial-efficiency score.

The first version covers 12 current Super League clubs, including Brunei guest DPMM. Cup ties are outside this model: progression in the Malaysia FA Cup, for example, does not add a rating bonus. Other divisions, women’s teams and youth teams need their own verified coverage before they can be included responsibly.

All scores remain provisional. Fewer matches give a club less established history, even when every available result is correct. Teams with fewer than three current-season matches do not receive a Pulse rank. Tied unrounded scores share a rank; displayed rounding can make close but unequal ratings look identical.

Open a club to inspect its latest current-season match inputs. “Expected score” is the model’s pre-match expectation on a win = 1, draw = 0.5, loss = 0 scale. These are result-based calculations, not invented match reports.

Coverage and source trail

25 played Super League matches from 21 August to 13 September 2026; source checked 16 October 2026 at 01:27:55 MYT. All 12 clubs covered. One unplayed administrative award is excluded. No prior-season warm-up is available. The displayed cutoff belongs to the result dataset, not to a live score feed. Corrections require the full chronology to be recalculated; a score is never edited directly to favour a team.
