Malaysia Super League, Piala Malaysia & the Cups

The Malaysia Super League (Liga Super) is the top tier of Malaysian club football — a 12-team league for 2026/27, running an August-to-May calendar, with Johor Darul Ta'zim chasing a 13th consecutive title. Around it sits one of Asia's richest cup traditions: the Piala Malaysia, contested since 1921 and one of the world's oldest football competitions, plus the FA Cup, the MFL Challenge Cup and the season-opening Piala Sumbangsih.

This section explains how each competition works, who has won what, and how the pieces fit together — including the ASEAN Club Championship, the regional tournament where Selangor reached the 2025/26 final.

Kedafa doesn't publish live league tables — static tables go stale fast. For the current Malaysia Super League table, standings and fixtures we link to the official Malaysian Football League site in every article; what you'll find here is the context that makes those numbers mean something.
